Talking about myself is NOT my strong suit, but here goes nothing. I’ve spent most of my life in the same area of Michigan that I grew up in. Only recently have I ventured away from the “nest” and moved to Northern Virginia. For the last 15 years, I’ve worked in the floral industry, doing everything from designing to event planning to working for a wholesaler. I’ve always been the one at all the family functions with a camera in my hand, and loved spending the weekends wandering various places in Michigan photographing lighthouses, waterfalls, flowers, butterflies, birds….pretty much everything. But with how busy life was, I never really had the time to turn it into anything more than a hobby.

While I do love my day job, my bigger passion is photography. Someone once asked me why I like it, how could I possibly think it’s fun.. Why? That one is easy. To me, it’s not just taking a picture. It’s the emotion, creating something tangible that can take a person back to what they were feeling in a certain moment.  I can tell you what I was doing, where I was, and how I felt about each photo I’ve ever taken. Whether it’s grabbing a shot of a butterfly on a flower to remind me of that peaceful hike I went on, or the look in a father’s eyes when he sees his daughter on her wedding day .. it’s all about capturing the emotion in a moment.

Aside from my photography, I love the outdoors and am a pretty happy person. When I'm not out enjoying the sunshine, I'm usually trying to lighten the spirits of those around me, soooo more often than not, you'll find something sassy coming out of my mouth, or a goofy look on my face. I'm lucky enough, Sean has captured quite a few of them on camera. You just might find some in the photos below.
